Dr. Josip Slisko
Josip Slisko holds a Ph.D. in philosophical sciences and is, since 1991, professor-researcher at Benemérita Universidad Autonoma de Puebla (Puebla, Mexico). His research is related to the learning and teaching of physics and mathematics. Since 1994 he is a member of the Mexican National System of Researchers. As mentor o co-mentor, he directed 45 Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral thesis.
Josip Slisko published in Mexico various physics textbooks for secondary and high-school As author or co-author appears in 46 book chapters and 157 articles in educational journals. His 86 publications were cited more than 650 times by other authors. He has been an invited reviewer in 10 educational journals with an impact factor.
In 2011 his educational activities were recognized by LAPEN Medal (Latin American Physics Education Network) for contributions to development, strengthen, and enrichment of physics education in Latin America.
Josip Slisko is President of Organizing Committees of annual international workshops “New Trends in Physics Teaching” (27 editions since 1993) and “Trends in Research-Based Mathematics Education” (6 editions since 2014). A principal aim of both workshops is that physics and mathematics teachers know the results of educational research that can improve the learning of their students.
